Facebook ist im Moment seit guten drei Stunden offline. Vielleicht ist das ein ganz passender Zeitpunkt um sich zu überlegen, wie viele Features einer Website man wirklich auf ein einziges Netzwerk auslagern möchte. Die grundsätzliche Datenschutz-Problematik bei der massenhaften Einbindung von Facebook-iFrames (z.B. für den Like-Button) ist dabei ein gesondertes Thema - vorerst geht es mir hier nur um die Erreichbarkeit eines Dienstes.

Immer mehr Websites setzen inzwischen für Log-Ins oder Kommentare zum Beispiel auf Facebook-Connect. Von kompletten Webpräsenzen die zu Facebook umgezogen sind, wie im Falle von FHM Germany vor ein paar Monaten, ganz zu schweigen.

Hier auf jeden Fall ein paar Eindrücke unserer schönen, neuen & sozialen Web-Zwo-Null-Welt der letzten Stunden:

Facebook is an amazing success as a social network. Anyone who can get 500 million people to connect, share photos, and click on little cows in Farmville deserves major kudos.

But the bullshit monopoly-money valuation merry-go-round has to stop. It’s getting beyond ridiculous and when even serious publications like Forbes jump on for a ride. It’s time to take deep breath and take a look at reality.

Wirklich abartig, was inzwischen schon allein mit HTML5 und CSS3 ohne Flash möglich ist: "Never mind the bullets" ist ein Western-Comic, der mit diversen Parallax-Scrolling Effekten angereichert wurde. Weitere Informationen zu dem Projekt gibt es hier.

Was für eine Sammlung! Media Militia hat eine riesige Liste mit über 250 Websites für kostenlose Stock Photos zusammengetragen. Darunter sollte sicherlich auch das richtige Bild für das nächste Projekt vorhanden sein:
