Apple hat erst kürzlich Dutzende von Patenten angemeldet, welche eine zukünftige 3D-Oberfläche in Mac OS X vermuten lässt:

Dozens of Apple patent applications were published today revealing research that Apple had done in 2007 on many topics encompassing future versions of Mac OS X. The most intriguing is a series of patent applications which describe a "Multidimensional" user interface. Apple has essentially been working on true 3D desktop environments.

Wie das Ganze theoretisch aussehen könnte kann man sich hier ansehen - ziemlich sexy, auch wenn ich noch nicht beurteilen kann wie praktikabel das Ganze ist:

Schlechte Nachricht für alle Mixtape-Freunde - das vielversprechende Mixtape-Revival ´08 hat ein jähes Ende und das beliebte Startup mixwit.com geht am 27.12. offline. Frisch aus meinem Posteingang (die komplette eMail gibt´s dann in den Kommentaren):

We regret to announce that Mixwit will cease to exist at the end of the year. The website and profiles will be turned off around Dec 27th and all embedded widgets will stop playing before the end of December.
